    Lean methodology is a set of principles and practices that help businesses add value and eliminate waste. This means focusing on what customers value and eliminating any activities that do not add value. It can also be used as a business strategy by using its principles to create a distinctive product or service that will appeal to a specific set of customers. Lastly, it can help businesses create a sustainable advantage by helping them improve their efficiency, quality, and responsiveness.

    This interactive and highly practical three-day course will provide first-hand experience of the approaches and tools of Lean that are used to affect continual improvement which is a goal for most organizations and a requirement of standards such as ISO 9001:2015.

    Following this course, you will have taken a major step forward in terms of starting to develop the competence required for these other internationally recognized Lean Practitioner certifications, such as ISO 18404, and/or IASSC.

    How will you benefit

    This course will help you:

    • Participate in Lean improvements in the organization. These improvement activities will usually be within the Lean Practitioner’s usual field of employment and operation,
    • Work to implement improvements in the local area,
    • Use workplace layout techniques to improve process flow,
    • Lead improvement activities and quantify benefits delivered,
    • Coach team members on process improvement methods and activities, and run training sessions on Lean techniques.
    • Upon completion of this course, you’ll be able to:

      • Describe the Lean principles and many of the tools and techniques of continual improvement,
      • Correctly select and apply Lean continual improvement methods and tools within your workplace to reduce wasteful activities, increase process speed and create value-adding customer products and services,
      • Use Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies, 5S, and Poka-Yoke to reduce machine and system downtime and enhance process performance,
      • Demonstrate to the organization and workplace teams that simple Lean tools can be applied to improve employee engagement and daily/weekly continual improvement,
      • Use Lean measures and metrics to correctly quantify process performance,
      • Use the Kaizen approach to implement quick improvements using Lean tools and techniques,
      • Relate effective Lean continual improvement activities to the management of organizational quality and efficiency, and
      • Begin to develop the competencies required by ISO 18404 through knowledge and practice of a series of technical tools.
      • Process improvement professionals, Quality professionals, managers/officers, engineers, and other professionals who want to improve their process improvement, problem-solving, and project management skills using the Lean principles.

      Pre-requisites:

      Attendance at  BSI's 'Lean Six Sigma Foundation Green Belt Course', undertaking equivalent training, or some prior experience of implementing Lean methods is highly recommended.

    • Upon attending this training course, you’ll receive an internationally recognized BSI certificate of attendance,

      Upon successfully passing the required exam, you’ll receive an internationally recognized BSI certificate of achievement, and

      Upon submitting and gaining BSI approval for your completed Lean (Practitioner-level) project, you’ll receive an internationally recognized BSI certificate of qualification as a:

      Certified Lean Practitioner Professional

      Certified Lean Practitioner Professional Qualification requirements:

      • Completion of the Lean Practitioner, and the Organizational Change Practitioner training courses with at least 80% attendance,
      • Pass the assessments of the above courses after the training sessions with at least a 70% mark, and

      Complete a Lean (Practitioner-level) project vouched by the company representative.
