BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Equipment) is an independent British organization that publishes and maintains a national register of competent providers of fire-safety products and services. It works exclusively with UKAS-accredited certification bodies (CBs), which carry out quality checks on its behalf.
BAFE registration is voluntary but very important for those in the UK fire safety and protection industry and many organizations now require it of companies that install or maintain their fire safety systems.
It also brings customers together with companies they can trust with their directory of independently audited and approved providers.
For many working in the fire and protection industry, BAFE registration is a commercial imperative. The UK Government now strongly recommends the use of third-party certificated providers by those in charge of fire safety. This makes potential customers much more like to use a company or specialist with a BAFE certificate.
