To counter threats like hijacking and breaches, Husky achieved mid-level certification with the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT). But to take best practice to the next step, it would need a trusted, independent partner.

How Certification Enabled Supply Chain Security Excellence
Husky Injection Moulding Systems wanted to achieve supply chain security best practice. Here's how certification exceeded expectations.
Recognizing room for improvement on risk mitigation
Reassessing the standard for excellence
Despite achieving Tier 2 accreditation within the CTPAT scheme, the organization was determined to set the example for excellence while securing the business against risk.
Husky identified the need for a trusted risk management partner that could help it with ongoing supplier assessments and to audit manufacturing facilities. To reach Tier 3, Husky sought advice, data and training around supply chain security that would accelerate its progress towards certification.
A comprehensive strategy for success
Husky used our Connect SCREEN data tool to enrich its view of essential security touchpoints, from cargo disruption to terrorism.
From there, Husky embarked on a two-stage strategy to achieve Tier 3 certification. The first stage focused on three operations: managing supplier assessments, consultancy for the next CTPAT validation, and informally auditing Husky facilities. The second stage focused on internal security training and threat awareness sessions, supported by learning modules that suppliers could study to understand CTPAT.
