Now that artificial intelligence (AI) can be programmed to make decisions that have a huge impact on the lives of consumers and the choices they make, how can consumers be sure that the organisations developing and using AI, do so in an ethical way? What tools do organisations need to build consumer confidence and enable them to take advantage of AI for the benefit of consumers? Will the consumers’ right to choose be taken away, through a lack of clear governance principles in the rapidly emerging world of AI?
