Prof. Stephen Cameron, Associate Professor at Oxford University

Stephen obtained his Ph.D in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh, which was followed by a period at McDonnell Douglas before starting his role as Lecturer at the University of Oxford in 1988, where he now is an Associate Professor. He is chair of the BSI committee AMT/10 on Robotics and a member of the BSI committee on Robot Ethics. He is also a member of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and various technical ISO robotics committees.

Robert Garbett, Chief Executive at Drone Major Group Ltd

Robert is an ex-army Major who served as senior engineer for Army Special Forces Helicopters and was responsible for the development of aircraft maintenance policies across Army, Navy and Air Force, including military drones. He founded the Drone Major Group, a secure software development company with an online portal for global drone sale and drone related equipment. He is also Co-Founder of SUAS-Global, the world’s leading network of drone operators. Appointed by BSI to the ISO and European level UAS expert, he is responsible for the development of International Standards for Drone Operations.



Andrew Banks, Senior Field Application Engineer at LDRA Ltd

Andrew has over 25 years’ experience in real-time embedded software development, across aerospace, defence, space and automotive. He recently joined LDRA Ltd. prior to his consultancy function at Frazer-Nash. He has been involved in the 2nd Edition of ISO 26262 and is active participant in the Safety Critical Systems Club’s “Safety of Autonomous Systems Working Group” and supports the development of PAS 1885 “Fundamentals of Automotive Cyber Security”. Andrew is a Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society, Chairman of MISRA C Working Group and BSI Software Testing Working Group.

Ruptesh is a qualified Mechanical Engineer, holding an MBA from Warwick Business School. He is a management professional and technology enthusiast with 20 years of international leadership experience in leading Industrial Manufacturing and Technology organizations like Tata Motors, Fujitsu and Microsoft. He enjoys helping manufacturing companies to achieve their business goals by leveraging Cloud Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Big Data and Business Apps.



Dan Palmer, Head of Market Development at BSI

Dan is Head of Market Development for the manufacturing sector at BSI, where he leads on the development of standards for the aerospace, automotive, electrical equipment and other manufacturing sectors. He has a particular interest in the ways in which standards can support the adoption of innovative technologies, including digital manufacturing, autonomous vehicles and robotic systems. Prior to this role, he has worked widely in technical publishing and change management.
