Creating consistent safety across complex construction projects

How T&B Contractors embedded structured risk management and stronger leadership engagement through ISO 45001.

    Testimonial

“H&S isn’t seen as a burden for us. It’s a fundamental part of what we do – protecting people, safeguarding stakeholders, & supporting the way we work”

    The People

T&B delivers construction across diverse public sectors

Design, build and traditional construction projects across schools, hospitals and public sector buildings.

Operating multiple live sites with varied construction methods, T&B requires consistent safety processes across every project.

    The Challenge

Managing varied construction risks across multiple sites and project types

Projects range from timber and steel frame structures to concrete builds and refurbishments, each with different risks.

No two construction projects are the same, creating varied operational risks across sites. T&B Contractors delivers projects using different construction methods, including timber and steel frames, concrete structures and refurbishment works. Managing these complexities across multiple live sites required a consistent and repeatable approach to health and safety. The organisation needed a structured management system to ensure processes were applied reliably across every project.

    The Solution

Embedding structured safety management with ISO 45001

The standard strengthened leadership involvement and embedded risk management from boardroom decisions to site operations.

T&B Contractors implemented a formal occupational health and safety management system early on, first adopting OHSAS 18001 before transitioning to ISO 45001. Rather than introducing entirely new processes, the business focused on strengthening and formalising systems already in place. ISO 45001 reinforced leadership involvement and embedded risk management throughout the organisation, ensuring consistent and repeatable safety practices across projects and operations.
