The long-awaited Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) for ISO 14001 has been released, signalling the last development step in modernizing the world’s leading environmental management system (EMS) standard.
The FDIS offers a final look at what changes have been proposed to the standard’s content ahead of publication, which is expected in 2026. This gives certified organizations the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming changes ahead of the official launch.

ISO/FDIS 14001 has now published and the standard is available for pre-order. All the technical changes to the document have been confirmed.
The ISO/FDIS 14001 is expected to be published in December 2025. At this stage all the technical requirements will be confirmed.
