KBR Australia - placing BIM at the core of future success

Business Information Modelling (BIM) is embraced to foster innovation, collaboration, and efficiency in construction.

KBR Australia's primary markets are in defence and infrastructure, and operate as a cohesive team to meet customers’ evolving needs, delivering smart, sustainable solutions that create lasting impact.

    The Challenge

KBR Australia’s clients are looking for digital infrastructure solutions and efficient project delivery

Amid growing demands in the digitization of design and construction, KBR Australia faces the challenge of enabling diverse teams to collaborate and share information effectively

KBR delivers science, technology and engineering solutions to governments and businesses around the world. In Australia, the company’s primary markets are in defence and infrastructure, where it works as a ‘team of teams’ to provide clients with smart, sustainable solutions. As the pace of technological change accelerates, the demand for digital engineering capabilities continues to grow. Increasingly, KBR Australia found its clients were seeking approaches that enable digital infrastructure solutions and efficient delivery of outcomes.

    The Solution

Using standards to enhance collaboration and deliver success

The BSI Kitemark™ shows KBR Australia's ability to use BIM for secure and systematic information management throughout a built asset’s lifecycle

KBR recognizes Kitemark™ certification to BIM (ISO 19650) from BSI as the way forward for enhancing digital transformation in the built environment sector; developed to help teams work together to the same international standard of information management over the whole life cycle of a built asset. The Digital, Systems, Quality and Projects Team were tasked with achieving certification. KBR underwent thorough independent assessment by BSI, leading to the award of Kitemark™ certification to Part 1 and Part 2 of the ISO 19650 BIM framework.

Using BIM to differentiate in a competitive marketplace

KBR Australia is experiencing several benefits from the certification, including:
