    How Converge Technology Solutions is strengthening trust and sustainability in refurbished and remanufactured IT

    Converge Technology Solutions provides sustainable IT to customers by supplying reconditioned devices and responsibly collecting unwanted equipment.

    The Challenge

    Four years ago, Converge’s IT asset disposition (ITAD) operations focused on data wiping, bulk disposal and refurbishing IT equipment

    They desired an industry-recognized standard to validate quality and sustainability.

    BSI certification has become a trusted benchmark, enabling companies to secure high-value tenders and build confidence with clients.  

    By achieving this assurance, Converge can unlock new opportunities in education, healthcare, and public sector frameworks where BSI standards are increasingly seen as a mark of quality and reliability. 

     

     

     

     

    The Solution

    Converge partnered with BSI to achieve two Kitemarks: one for Reconditioning and one for Remanufacturing.

    They have become the first UK ITAD provider with 100% UK operations to hold both under one roof. Key steps included:

    Process Alignment: Early consultations with BSI helped refine internal processes before formal certification began.

    Rigorous Audits: The team prepared through multiple mock audits and controlled environments to ensure compliance with stringent standards.

    Operational Transformation: Strategic investments in advanced processes - such as UV keyboard printing, and component upgrades - enabled Converge to deliver products that perform to ‘as new or better’ standards.

    Sustainability Integration: Consolidating reconditioning and remanufacturing operations in the UK reduced supply chain risks and minimized carbon footprint.
