    Scope: The maintenance of the Area 4 network comprising incident support, routine and winter service works, accident damage repairs and delivery of minor schemes. The supply, installation and repair of fences for infrastructure works in the following categories: - Boundary Fencing - BS 1722 Part 1 chain link fences, BS 1772 Part 2 strained wire and wire mesh netting fences, BS 1722 Part 4 cleft chestnut pale fences, BS 1772 Part 5 close-boarded and wooden palisade fences, Part 7 wooden post and rail fences & BS 1172 Part 11 prefabricated wood panel fences. Metal Railings - BS 1722 Part 8 mild steel (low carbon steel) continuous bar fences and hurdles & BS 1722 Part 9 mild steel (low carbon steel) fences with round or square verticals and flat horizontals & BS 7818 specification for pedestrian restraint systems in metal. Gates & Stiles and Ancillary (to clients design and/or specification)in accordance with National Highways Sector Scheme 2A. The supply, installation and repair of deformable permanent vehicle restraint systems rigid (non-deformable permanent), parapets, terminals, transitions, crash cushions, gates and proprietary and non-proprietary systems, in accordance with National Highway Sector Scheme 10B. The establishing and removal of mobile lane closure traffic management on motorways and other dual carriageways with and without hard shoulders in accordance with National Highway Sector Scheme 12C. The installing, maintaining and removing of temporary traffic management on rural and urban roads - static works, dual carriageway works, convoy works, multiphase traffic signals in accordance with National Highway Sector Scheme 12D. For all land-based sectors - the design and planning of 18A - Arboriculture activities - application of arboriculture work, mechanical tree and vegetation removal, maintenance of established trees and shrubs. The design and planning of 18B - Pesticide & pest control activities - application of control measures for invasive and protective species, site management for pesticides & pest control, control measures for invertebrates / vertebrates. The design and planning of 18C - application for special ecological measures, archaeology and / or landscape history. The management and maintenance of trees and herbaceous plants, ground preparation works, litter picking activities, archaeology in accordance with National Highways Sector Scheme 18. The operation and maintenance of road tunnels in accordance with National Highway Sector Scheme 22.
