What’s this Quality Management in the Built Environment webinar about?

Ian is an experienced standards professional, having worked at BSI for over 18 years. Currently working as Sector Lead in the Built Environment area of BSI Knowledge Solutions, he has specific responsibility for the direction and development of key standards areas related to Building Safety, Quality, and Health & Safety, working with industry and government to identify and develop associated knowledge solutions.

Ian has also worked on multiple high-profile projects during his career at BSI, including many of the key management systems standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 27001 and ISO 45001.

Gena Ibraev is a Member of the UK Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), with qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety Management, Security Management and Risk Management from UK professional bodies. With 17 years of international experience in construction and energy sectors, Gena is currently holding a role of Head of Assurance with Sir Robert McAlpine, a Tier 1 construction contractor operating nationally in the UK. The prior experience and the current involvement in cross-discipline management systems implementation, auditing and assurance, gives Gena the opportunity to holistically evaluate risks and opportunities faced by businesses up and down the construction supply chains, as well as individual projects and joint ventures. Gena Ibraev is an active member of the BSI technical committee responsible for the development of the BS 99001 standard.

Jon is a long-standing professional with over 30 years’ experience in the construction sector, having worked his way up through various site management and engineering roles before moving into the field of Quality Management.

Currently leading a Compliance & Audit team for a major construction organization, Jon is the Chair of the Chartered Quality Institute Construction Special Interest Group established as a representative group for quality professionals within the construction sector.

With extensive experience in the deployment of ISO9001 and associated standards within the Built Environment sector and his hands-on site experience, he has developed a pragmatic approach to the deployment of quality management tools and techniques focusing on the practicalities of implementation for those at the workface.

In his time as a Quality Management professional, he has audited many construction projects ranging from £20k to £600m across public and private sectors, so is fully conversant with the challenges in implementing ISO9001 in the built environment arena.

As a passionate believer in the benefits of developing an integrated, intelligent approach to the implementation of quality management systems, Jon is focussed on their use to drive performance improvement in quality of service delivery, end-product, and customer experience.

For most of his career, Krish has specialised in quality assurance. With a focus on problem solving and spotting inefficiencies, his core strengths include process development, risk analysis and modelling.

He started his career in the automotive sector where he was introduced to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) – a framework designed to improve the manufacturing process for automotive components. It removed risk by adding in gateways for design assessment, production testing and verification.

He saw an opportunity to move into construction and bring the skills and learning from this project across and help drive the creation of safer, better quality products and offsite solutions for the built environment. 

Joining the Construction Innovation Hub, Krish has led the development of Construction Product Quality Planning (CPQP) which sets the template for stronger processes and assurance within the manufacturing of platform solutions and construction products.
