ISO 37101:2016 Sustainable Development in Communities - Requirements Training Course

This course is the first in a series that will help you understand the emerging importance and relevance of standards around Smart Cities.

In today’s fast-paced, ever-changing environment, the challenge of sustainable development is a high priority at a global level. Strategies for achieving sustainable development at community level must have a more local focus. The context and content are different from country-to-country and region-to-region.

Strategies should reflect the relevant context, preconditions, priorities and needs of the community. In the social environment, this includes social equity, cultural identity and traditions, heritage, human health, safety and comfort, and social infrastructure.

This introductory Requirements course will enable you to identify the structure and requirements of an effective Sustainable Development in Communities Management System (SDCMS) and what this means for you.

You’ll gain a thorough understanding of ISO 37101:2016, key terms, definitions and the ISO standardized high-level structure. You’ll learn to interpret and apply the key concepts and principles of the standard together with an awareness of other related companion guidelines in this series.

The standard can enable your organization to help communities become more sustainable by using a strategic framework. It does not set benchmarks or expected levels of performance.
