8-Hour Fall Protection Training Course

Upon implementation of Local Law 196 of 2017, the newly added Section BC 3321: Construction Site Safety Training (SST) (Chapter 33 of NYC DOB Building Code) states that “each permit holder at a building site for which a construction superintendent, site safety manager or site safety coordinator is required shall be responsible for ensuring that each worker has an SST card…and each worker who is serving as a Site Safety Manager, Site Safety Coordinator, Concrete Safety Manager, Construction Superintendent or a Competent Person at such site has an SST Supervisor Card”. This course covers the identification, evaluation, prevention and control of fall hazards in the construction industry. Course topics include principles of fall protection, components and limitations of fall arrest systems, guard rail systems and safety net systems recognition and prevention of struck-by objects hazards, as well as an overview of the current ANSI/ASSE Z359 FALL PROTECTION CODE (effective August 14, 2017).
