Outsourced Data Protection Officer

The Data Protection Officer (DPO) is an important leadership role within an organization’s governance structures and is a key stakeholder in the data protection accountability framework defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Article 37 of the EU GDPR regulation specifies that certain organizations are required to appoint a dedicated Data Protection Officer (DPO).

Appointment of a suitably qualified individual can be a challenge for organizations. An in-house DPO may not be feasible for every organization due to resources. In this instance, it is possible to outsource this requirement. We at BSI understand how challenging it can be to align with these obligations on that basis we offer DPO as a service.
