4-hour Supported Scaffold User & Refresher Course
Individuals who use a supported scaffold (regardless of the height of the scaffold), including the person supervising such, shall, at a minimum, have completed a NYC DOB 4-hour training program and, every four years thereafter, retake the 4 -hour training course in accordance with Chapter 33 of the new 2014 NYC DOB Building Code, Local Law No. 52 of 2005, Local Law 24 of 2008 and OSHA. This program includes instruction on the nature of electrical hazards, fall and falling object hazards, material handling on scaffolds, and the maximum intended load and load-handling capacities of scaffold.
32-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer & Remover Course
Workers who install, adjust, repair, maintain, inspect, or remove a supported scaffold that is 40 feet or more in height, including the person supervising such, shall complete a NYCDOB-approved 32-hr training course and shall complete a department-approved 8-hour refresher program every 4 years thereafter. This training requirement also applies to workers who install, adjust, repair, maintain, or remove a sidewalk shed that provides a base for a supported scaffold that is 40 feet or more in height, including the person supervising such.
8-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer & Remover Refresher
16-Hour Suspended Scaffold User
As per 2014 NYC Building Code Section 3314.4.5.4, this training is required for suspended scaffold Installers, Users, Inspectors, Removers, Adjusters, Repairers or Maintainers.
