BSI’s Connected Learning Live brings the classroom to you!

BSI has an established presence in the industry as a leading training provider of business improvement-related courses for all online, on-site and public formats. Our success with online training has been an amazing journey, and we have delivered our online training courses, entitled Connected Learning Live (CLL), since 2015. The successes (and learning opportunities) we have experienced in the development and implementation of our CLL courses have made BSI the front runner in the virtual learning arena amongst all certification bodies.

For the Class

The course is hosted on a web meeting platform that is both video and audio enabled and all classes are limited to no more than 14 per classroom.  We have found this to be the optimal size as it provides the most productive learning environment.  It allows peer-to-peer networking while maintaining a conducive atmosphere with the instructor.

Courses offered are designed and developed for an online format:

• For example: An ISO 9001 Requirements course that is delivered as a public course usually runs for 8 hours over two days.  Through our CLL format, the same, certified course is delivered in 3 hour sessions across 5 days. Both formats include daily case study homework assignments.
• BSI is also the first to introduce an accelerated online delivery format that increases the number of hours per day while decreasing the number of days. So the same ISO 9001 Requirements course that runs for two days as a public face-to-face course, will run for two days via our web platform.

In both cases, exams are conducted on-line through the BSI Learning Management System at the end of the course.

3. Video Conferencing - Unlike many other tools, our format allows the students and instructors to communicate and interface in a “live” environment.
4. Instant Messaging- One of the features of our CLL online learning platform is the ability to participate live and “IM” or “chat” during the class with the instructor and other participants.
5. Mobile accessibility. Participants can access content anytime, from anywhere via a mobile device (laptop). The CLL platform is well-suited to all mobile capabilities.

1. Participants interact directly with each other in a virtual classroom through real-time live training conducted online.
2. The instructor and participants can be in dispersed locations, different time zones and meet together in a virtual classroom on the web, enabling anyone, from anywhere to participate.
3. The instructor is able to interact with students and share materials through audio and video streaming, as if they are together in a real classroom.
4. CLL virtual capacity encourages participants to focus and remain engaged.

1. Breakout Rooms - This feature allows participants to break off into groups when doing exercises without ever leaving their chair!! The instructor can simply put students into virtual rooms where they can work on exercises together.

3. Ability to Share Documents and Video on the Fly
4. Hand-Raising - This feature allows participants to indicate if they have a question or comment without the risk of talking over one another- just like in a face-to-face classroom
5. Polls/Voting - Instructors can use the Poll pod to create questions, or polls, for participants and to view the results. Polls are useful during a meeting if you want instant feedback on what is being presented.
6. Chat (public and private) - This feature enables students to interact through messaging.
7. File Downloads - BSI provides electronic materials to each student that include, but is not limited to student manual, reference materials, case studies.

The evolution of our CLL has been very successful. BSI’s CLL courses have been in existence since 2015, and the program has grown exponentially over the past 5 years.

Registration - The number of students registered in courses since 2015 has increased by 1,602% (35 Students in 2015 to 626 students in 2019)

Participant Evaluations - Connected Learning Live was equal or higher in every evaluation category as compared with in-person classes.

Exam Pass Rate - Connected Learning Live pass rate is significantly higher, up to 10% higher.

Courses Delivered - The number of courses provided since 2015 has increased by 1,375% (4 courses in 2015 to 59 courses in 2019).

Courses Certified – All courses that are certified by the relevant accreditation body for “in-person” courses are certified also for our CLL format.
