In today’s fast paced environment, artificial intelligence is playing a greater role in both our personal and professional lives. AI can help position your place in the market, but there is a need to ensure this is done responsibly. ISO/IEC 42001:2023 is an internationally recognized Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) allows you to enhance organizational performance and gain a competitive edge when using AI.

As a risk-based standard ISO/IEC 42001:2023 provides the option of 38 risk controls that you may determine necessary for manging your AI risks. This course provides you with an oversight into how you can implement these controls if they are necessary for the effective implementation of your AIMS.

Pedagogical objectives

This course will help you:

Apply the best practice controls in ISO/IEC 42001:2023
Explain the rationale behind the processes and usages associated with the controls
Implement the controls more effectively through clear and practical guidance
Recognize how implementing these controls will help reduce levels of AI risk within your organization.

Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites, however it will be useful for delegates to read the standard before attending the course.

You will have the knowledge to:
- Explain the purpose and background of ISO/IEC 42001:2023
- Explain the scope and structure of ISO/IEC 42001:2023 annex A
- Recognize the different best practice controls recommended by ISO/IEC 42001:2023
- Identify the benefits of implementing controls from ISO/IEC 42001:2023
- Demonstrate how to choose the appropriate controls relevant to you
- Implement chosen controls from ISO/IEC 42001 annex A
Anyone involved in the implementation auditing, maintaining or supervising of an ISO 42001 AIMS.
- Questionnaire to assess the knowledge at the end of the training
- Customer survey
Course materials including:
- Introduction to the training, detailed program and security assignments
- Course presentation, theory and activities/roles plays
- Answers to the activities
- Videos
- Additional documents, distributed during the sessions, to use for the activities
- Attendance sheet to be signed
- Course materials, provided electronically
