May 5, 2026 – BSI and Coursera are announcing a new global training partnership designed to help organizations and professionals build critical skills, strengthening workforce development, and enabling businesses to stay agile in a rapidly changing world. A report by the World Economic Forum indicates that by 2030, nearly two-fifths of employee skill sets will become outdated or require transformation. This partnership enables BSI, the global leader in standards and certification, and Coursera, the largest global platform for online learning and career development, to join forces to enable professionals from all industries to engage with high-quality, on-demand, modular courses in areas such as AI, health & safety, and other areas of professional development to acquire practical business skills.
Jessica Patel, SVP Americas Assurance, BSI, said: “Our partnership with Coursera reflects a shared ambition to make world-class, standards-based learning accessible to professionals in order to address strategic skills gaps, helping to drive positive impact across organizations and society.
At BSI, we’re committed to ensuring global learning access by providing learning content in the formats and platforms that resonate most with a breadth of learners. That is why we are redesigning a selection of our most popular courses into modular learning products built around shorter, stand-alone units that support flexible, on-demand learning. This approach allows learners to quickly access relevant topics and progress at their own pace, building practical knowledge through focused, easy-to-digest segments.”
Marni Baker Stein, Chief Content Officer, Coursera, said: “For 125 years, BSI has empowered institutions globally to build, iterate, and innovate to the highest possible standards, driving positive impact for consumers and companies alike. As the pace of industry change accelerates, partnering with BSI will allow our Coursera community—numbering over 197 million career-motivated learners worldwide—to gain the essential skills they need to make excellence a habit for themselves, their organizations, and the world.”
By combining BSI’s expertise in helping organizations to implement best practices that drive a positive impact with Coursera’s commitment to provide the world’s learners with the right skills that they need to thrive, the partnership aims to provide individuals with an opportunity to upskill and strengthen their careers, whilst supporting organizations with employee competency and compliance readiness, helping to build a more productive, resilient workforce.
