The International Labour Organization, the United Nations agency whose mandate is to advance social justice and promote decent work by setting international labour standards, estimates there are over 2.3 million work-related fatalities per year and over 340 million on the job injuries around the world. The ISO 45001 standard is designed to prevent work-related injury and ill-health by providing companies with guidance and a road-map for safe and healthy workplaces. As an international standard it crosses geographic, political, economic, commercial, and social boundaries; perfect for companies like BGIS with facilities in multiple countries.

“We’re proud to present BGIS with their certification to ISO 45001,” stated Howard Kerr, Chief Executive at BSI. “Companies must protect their most valuable resource, their people, and there is no stronger way to affirm that commitment than to certify to this international standard.”

“BGIS is proud to be one of the first global companies to achieve this important occupational health and safety certification for Canada, United States, Australia, and New Zealand. The discipline and rigour of the ISO approach helps our business to deliver improved systems and processes on a consistent basis to benefit our team members, our clients and in reducing our impact on the environment,” says Pete Papagiannis, Global Chief Operating Officer for BGIS. “
