What’s this Benefits Management Webinar about?

Project management is in the spotlight at the moment, with some significant successes but, overall, success rates still leave a lot to be desired.  If a programme or project doesn’t realise the planned benefits it cannot be considered successful. Accordingly, the principles, processes and practices of benefits management need to be better and more consistently applied. BS 202002:2023 Applying benefits management on portfolios, programmes and projects – Guide was developed to meet this need and draws on experience from a range of different sectors including major projects that government delivers.  This webinar will tell participants how using this standard is likely to:

Minney has managed benefits at all stages of project and service delivery for 30 years.  He’s worked in academia, sales, business consulting, the National Health Service and now in civil nuclear, and has an extensive network which ensured that a wide range of commercial sectors and organisation types had input into this standard. He’s contributed to and written papers and books on benefits management for the Association for Project Management (APM), Chartered Management Institute (CMI), and Project Management Institute (PMI) and chairs working groups for both APM and the Nuclear Institute to codify and share practical and innovative approaches to both project (P3) management and benefits management.

Iain Minns has worked across numerous industries including Aviation, Nuclear Defence, Defence, Local Government, Rail, Buildings, Highways, Health and the Automotive sector. He is a co-author of the British Standard for Project Controls and is a qualified practitioner in project, programme and portfolio management.

He is passionate about Project Controls and an advocate for standardisation and education. His aspiration is to leave the industry in a better state than when he joined it through establishing the standard for project controls and opening up the opportunities for education and qualifications to graduates and apprentices, so that the generations who follow us see our industry as an attractive prospect for their careers and a place to make a difference.

Robert is an international authority on project delivery with a successful track record for building capability in a variety of sectors and as the architect for the UK government’s functional standards and lead for GovS 002, Project delivery. He is a published author (including The Project Workout and PRINCE2), contributes to project management best practice, professional journals and is a Visiting Teaching Fellow at the University of Warwick. BSI awarded him a Distinguished Service Certificate for services to national and international project management standards. Robert is a MBA, chartered civil engineer and an Honorary Fellow of the APM

Allan is a results driven PRINCE2 qualified Project Manager with over 25 years’ project, programme management and PMO experience. Particularly adept at implementation of PRINCE2 into organisations, Microsoft Dynamics solutions, risk management through the implementation of risk management best practice, new product development, business improvement, software implementation and change management. An experienced Project Leader who through collaboration techniques integrates and leads teams to achieve business objectives. Allan has gained experience in agile delivery methods and their inclusion into PMO reporting. Allan has a working knowledge of ITIL service delivery management, and how it integrates with project management. Allan is currently a senior programme manager within the Vaccine Deployment Programme for COVID-19 within NHS England
