Tim McGarr is the Sector Lead for the Digital area within Knowledge Solutions in BSI. Tim has specific responsibility for the direction and development of key digital standards areas, including Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Virtual/Augmented Reality. Tim has been working at BSI since 2009. Prior to BSI, Tim he spent 5 years working in the legal publisher LexisNexis in the strategy department. Before this, Tim he worked as a management consultant for Logica (now CGI) and an internal consultant for BT. Tim has an MBA from HEC in Paris, France.

Sarah has experience building various data systems across the full data lifecycle and specializes in; Data quality systems using machine learning for UK, European and Global regulations, data governance and management frameworks and systems, MLOps, DevOps, Data and AI Security and Cloud Migration (using Microsoft and Databricks technologies).

She’s one of the award-winning Data Leaders in the UK and has presented at UK Parliament and represented UK Department of Trade in South Korea. Recently she was award the Top 100 Yahoo Finance Outstanding Role Model Exec List and the UK Top 100 Most Influential Women in Tech. She’s also the Avanade LGBT+ Executive Sponsor. Outside of work she is an apprentice magician and is part of the Magic Circle.

Sabrina joined LSEG in January 2019 prior to joining Sabrina was Group CISO for four years, at Equiniti, where she set up and matured its Group Security function and delivered a transformation programme.

Prior to that she held senior roles at AXA Group and VISA EMEA managing Security and Risk.

She actively participates in ISO standard drafting activities, currently serving as Vice Chair of IST33/1, the UK Mirror Committee of ISO/IEC SC27/WG1, and the Editor for the revision of ISO/IEC 27002:2013. She is a guest lecturer for the MSC in Information Security at Royal Holloway, University
of London.

New data protection and IT challenges have fascinated Stefan Schuppert since he started his legal career 20 years ago. Stefan makes sure that your new project masters the growing demands of international privacy regulation. With a background in both German and U.S. law, Stefan has a deep understanding of what you expect and require for the international transfer of data, and what it takes to convince authorities that regulatory requirements are met.

Starting with classical IP litigation and licensing agreements, Stefan quickly shifted to advising on technology projects in the thriving Munich and German market in the 90s, when also first concerns about the international transfer of data occurred. Since then, Stefan worked with clients in Europe, the U.S. and Asia. Currently, Stefan helps clients to navigate the waters of different and sometimes contradicting privacy and data protection regulation in the life science, technology and automotive industry. Who's Who Legal Information Technology called him "one of the foremost IT lawyers in the world".

Anthea specialises in privacy and data & analytics law, with a particular focus on the collection and use of data & analytics within the Petcare business.  Prior to her current role as Senior Counsel dedicated to the Data & Analytics function within Mars Petcare, Anthea was the Senior Privacy Counsel for Europe and Asia for Mars, Incorporated.  Before joining Mars, Anthea was a Senior Associate in the Products Law team at Hogan Lovells International LLP in London, where she advised global clients across a broad of industries, including companies operating in big tech, IoT and AI, on their legal and compliance requirements.  Anthea is a registered foreign lawyer with the SRA and is admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland (Australia).

Max Beverton-Palmer leads a team building a progressive policy platform that tackles some of the challenges and opportunities brought by the internet, artificial intelligence and digital platforms. He was previously Head of Digital Policy at Sky, leading policy in the UK and EU on online advertising and online safety, as well as working with product teams on ethical and responsible design. He started his career at the UK communications regulator, Ofcom, working on issues such as broadcast and broadband regulation and net neutrality.

Established in 1996 in Amsterdam, Booking.com has grown from a small Dutch start-up to the third largest e-commerce company in the world. With a mission to empower people to experience the world, Booking.com invests in digital technology that helps take the friction out of travel.  Mary is responsible for developing Booking's legal and regulatory position with regard to data protection legislation across the globe, in alignment with Booking’s business strategy and external regulatory requirements.

Prior to joining Booking.com, Mary was the Head of Privacy (EMEA) and European Data Protection Officer of Marsh McLennan Inc (MMC) where she was responsible for overseeing the successful approval of MMC's Binding Corporate Rules, the delivery of the MMC GDPR project and the enhancement of their data protection program and accountability approach.  She also contributed to the European Data Protection Law & Practice on the subject of "Accountability Requirements".

Mary's current interests lie in the future development of privacy policy, regulation and oversight.  She has closely followed developments over recent years, particularly the connection between ever-increasing technological advances and data dependence, which brings new challenges for privacy practitioners on how to commercially compete and, at the same time, remain compliant.

Paolo Balboni (Ph.D.) is a top tier European ICT, Privacy & Cybersecurity lawyer and serves as Data Protection Officer (DPO) for multinational companies. Professor of Privacy, Cybersecurity, and IT Contract Law at the European Centre on Privacy and Cybersecurity (ECPC) within the Maastricht University Faculty of Law. Chairman of the European Patent Office (EPO) Data Protection Board, Member of the EUMETSAT Data Protection Supervisory Authority and Member of the Europrivacy Board of Experts. Lead Auditor BS ISO/IEC 27001:2013.

William leads Google's international privacy legal function, managing a team across London, Hamburg, Paris, Dublin and Singapore. During his time at Google, William has worked on multiple CJEU data protection cases and regulatory matters and has represented Google with global policy makers. William has helped Google product and compliance teams formulate internal policies and compliance plans on a wide range of issues including GDPR, right to be forgotten, AI/ML, cloud privacy and international data transfers and is a frequent speaker/ panelist at conferences and industry events on data protection and privacy issues.

Mark is Director of Research and Insights at International Association of Privacy Professionals. In this role, Mark is focused on providing, relevant, strategic and pragmatic research and insights to the privacy community. Prior to joining the IAPP, Mark was the Global Lead for KPMG’s Privacy Advisory Practice, which specializes in providing privacy-related support to global clients and the UK Cyber Risk and Regulation Lead.

Mark has supported 100+ global organizations on their privacy journeys. This has ranged from small start-up based organizations which needed pragmatic and flexible structures to support innovation and business growth to a large selection of global 100 organizations, processing hundreds of millions of customer records which operations across 80+ countries.

Mark has served on a range of industry and adviser committees and has regular interactions with privacy regulators and at the most senior levels of clients (e.g., Global Boards / NEDs) in relation to their Cyber and Privacy challenges.

Mark’s professional qualifications include, BA (Hons) Business Studies, MSc in Information Security, CIPP/E, CIPT, CIPM, Fellow of Information Privacy, Achieved Prince 2 Practitioner, TOGAF 8 Certified, ITIL Certified

Hayley advises a range of companies on media and entertainment and online issues both of a transactional and a regulatory nature.  Hayley is listed as a Next Generation partner by Legal 500 2021 and is described in legal directories as "extremely personable and bucks the trend of the average senior corporate city lawyer. She is also hugely knowledgeable and has really strong relationships in the media and entertainment industry" and was named, this year, as one of the UK's top 25 rising female lawyers by Law.com.

Nóra's research and publications focus on human rights law and technology, particularly within the contexts of privacy and data protection, law enforcement and national security, AI and gender. She holds BA, LLB, and LLM (Public Law) degrees from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and was awarded a PhD in law from the University of Cambridge. Previously, Nóra has held the posts of Research Fellow and Affiliated Lecturer in Law at the University of Cambridge and Visiting Lecturer in Law at King’s College London.

She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the British and Irish Legal Information Institute and an editor of International Data Privacy Law (Oxford University Press). In 2019, she was appointed to the UK Home Office Biometrics and Forensics Ethics Group which provides independent advice ensuring the robustness of evidence underpinning biometrics and forensics policy development for public security within the Home Office.

Prior to her academic career, Nóra was a Legal and Policy Officer for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions of Ireland and clerked for the Irish Supreme Court. Nóra’s work in the fields of EU law and European human rights law, has been cited and published by Science, The Guardian, BBC, the House of Lords, and the United Nations.

Thirty years ago, Louis developed the first functional augmented reality system at Air Force Research Laboratory (the Virtual Fixtures platform). He then founded the early VR company Immersion Corporation (1993) and the early AR company Outland Research (2004). He is currently CEO of Unanimous AI, a company that amplifies group intelligence in shared environments. He earned his PhD from Stanford University, was a professor at California State University (Cal Poly), and has been awarded over 300 patents worldwide for VR, AR, and AI technologies.

Elle is a partner at Reed Smith LLP based in London and widely recognised as a leading practitioner in digital and data law.
