Lena Cordie-Bancroft is the Sector Lead for Medical Devices on BSI’s Knowledge Solutions division, where she is responsible for working with industry and government stakeholders to resolve issues surrounding the development and designation of medical devices standards; providing subject matter expertise and thought leadership to strengthen and promote the use of standards, and influencing the strategy of healthcare standards through innovation and collaboration with other sectors.

Lena was previously president and principal consultant at Qualitas Professional Service, where she worked with medical device companies to implement quality management systems, international regulatory requirements related to quality systems, risk management, labelling, and Unique Device Identification (UDI) requirements. She is actively involved in AAMI Sterilization Standards, ISO/TC 145, ISO/TC 198, and ISO/TC 210 workgroups, and is the convener of ISO/TC 210 WG3. She is also involved in Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS), serves as the chair for the Twin Cities Chapter, is a leader of the UK Local Networking Group, a member of the RAPS European Committee (REC), and a member of the RAPS Awards Committee. Lena is involved in a number of ABHI groups and is the chair of the ABHI Decontamination Group. She is co-chair of the Kilmer Regulatory Innovation Team, chairs the AAMI Awards Committee, and serves on AAMI's Nominating Committee and Editorial Board.

Dr Steve Hajioff is an experienced leader with over 30 years in the health sector and nearly two decades in consulting. He has worked for a variety of clients including international governments, UK government departments, several NHS bodies, and advised BMJ, Elsevier, Methods Analytics, Reuters and many others on analytics and technology in healthcare. He also works in the pharmaceutical and medical devices industries. He was formerly medical Director at Health Dialog, then the global leader in clinical data linkage, risk modelling and anticipatory care, where he was closely involved in the development of conceptual taxonomies, predictive risk models and opportunity analytics across England, Wales, France, Australia and Spain; including the archetypal accountable care organisation at Manises in Valencia. 

Steve has served in Chief Medical Officer roles for a variety of other organisations, including  Totally PLC, the leading provider of clinical nurse coaching in the UK, Sana Healthcare, Knowde Group and Pain Management Solutions Ltd; the largest clinical provider of chronic pain services in the UK. In addition to his consulting  work, Steve works extensively for NICE, was Director of Public Health in a west London municipality and is an honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College. Having spent several years as a Chief Officer of the British Medical Association and as an active member of the World Medical Association, he has worked closely with other opinion leaders across the health Healthcare Market Access, Public Health, Workplace Health, Global Health.

This event contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 on good health and well-being, and Goal 9 on industry, innovation and infrastructure.
