Brian’s experience and achievements span project management, construction management and facilities management (FM). He is an experienced project management corporate educator, having worked continuously with a global energy company for the past 15 years. Brian's primary interest is in an integrated process for the delivery and operation of assets. As a member of BSI’s FM Strategy Group and FM Technical Committee, as well as the ISO TC 267 Facility Management, he is well placed to advise on current best practices and emerging trends. Brian is the co-author of Total Facility Management published by Wiley, now in its fifth edition, and the technical author of more than a dozen British and international standards.

Brian holds a doctorate from the University of Reading and is a Fellow of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Building. Over the years, he has been appointed to professorships in Sweden, Australia and the UK.

Andrew is a consultant with The Nichols Group. He has over forty years’ experience in construction project, programme and portfolio management and delivery from contractor, client team and asset owner perspectives.

He is a member of BSI’s MS/2 committee (Project, Programme and Portfolio Management) and has brought that expertise and his wider industry experience to the drafting of this revision of BS 8536.

Michelle is an experienced Building Performance Consultant with a demonstrated history of working in the construction industry. Skilled in Post Occupancy Evaluation, Soft Landings, workplace wellbeing and Energy Assessment. Michelle has a strong education background with a Engineering Doctorate degree focused on Sustainable buildings. Michelle has managed and chaired BSRIA's Soft Landings Network for over 7 years and has delivered sustainability-related presentations in many national and international events and conferences including the COP26- Glasgow.

At the Royal Institute of British Architects I am responsible for professional support for RIBA members and the wider construction industry. I manage a department that helps RIBA Members and RIBA Chartered Practices develop their knowledge and expertise in practice and project management, regulations and standards, building safety and sustainable development. I am responsible for the RIBA Plan of Work and the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge and represent the RIBA at various construction industry forums.

Sarah Davidson is a Fellow member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and an Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham. Before joining the University in 2018 she spent a significant period in the construction industry working for both consultant organisations and contracting bodies. More recently Sarah has focussed on information management and construction cost data modelling and analysis.

Sarah is a member of the UK BIM Framework steering panel and is an editor and author of the UK BIM Framework guidance. She was a member of the technical panel involved in the development of BS 8536:2022.   She is also a member of the UK BIM Alliance Executive Team and her particular areas of interest are around data security, data classification for beneficial flow and application and collaborative/co-operative team working.
