    Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil System (ISPO) certification

    ISPO is a policy established in 2009 by the Indonesian Government to increase palm oil competitiveness while reducing greenhouse gases.

    Since 2011, ISPO certification becomes mandatory for all oil palm plantation in Indonesia and will be mandatory for all oil palm grower and smallholder by November 2025.

    The objectives of ISPO are:

    • To ensure and improve oil palm plantation management and development in compliance with ISPO principle and criteria.
    • To improve Indonesian oil palm plantation product’s acceptance and competitiveness in national market and international market.
    • To expedite Indonesian effort in greenhouse gases reduction.
