SA 8000 is the management system standard for Social Accountability that is aligned to internationally labour organisation conventions. SA8000 Standard for Decent Work, helps organizations practically fulfil their duty to respect human rights in the workplace.

The course covers the interpretation of the requirements of a Social Accountability Management system (Standard for Decent Work) as per SA 8000:2026.

Course delivery will cover examples relevant to various industry sectors to clarify how the requirements are interpreted and implemented to practically fulfil their duty to respect human rights in workplaces.

Become familiar with a typical framework for implementing a Social Accountability management system. This should form a sound basis for your implementation efforts and benefit your organization
Recognize where adjustments might need to be made, to this framework, to accommodate your particular situation and progress made to date
Increase your knowledge on the key concepts and requirements of SA 8000, from an implementation perspective
Gain the skills to conduct your Organisation’s social risks assessment of your organization’s current position with regard to SA 8000:2026, and implement key concepts and requirements relating to SA 8000, UN Guiding Principles (UNGPs), ILOs on Business and Human Rights, and applicable legal requirements.

Anyone involved in the planning, implementing, maintaining or supervising of Social compliance and Social Accountability management system in the organisation.
You should already have a good knowledge of Social compliance, the applicable labour laws and Social Accountability Management System. If not, we strongly recommend you attend our SA 8000 Requirements Awareness training course.
On completion, you’ll be awarded an internationally recognized BSI Training Academy certificate.
