Over two days, you’ll learn how to plan, conduct, and report on audits, including gathering evidence, communicating with auditees, and following up on findings. With a strong focus on risk based thinking and practical application through activities and case studies, this course enables you to perform meaningful audits that drive improvement and strengthen your laboratory’s QMS.

This course will help you:

Verify the effectiveness of the QMS by ensuring there is evidence of the effective implementation and maintenance of the quality system (including compliance with the standard)
Identify problems within the system, exploring their root causes, and facilitating corrective action to prevent recurrence, while maintaining adherence to the quality system and its activities
Recognize opportunities for improvement in your organization’s processes and activities or the quality system itself, aligning with the standard
Identify and assess potential risks within your organization
Proactively address emerging risks to prevent negative impacts
Conduct accurate and thorough audits of the laboratory activities

You’ll have the knowledge to:
- Explain the guidelines of auditing management systems according to ISO 19011:2018 Guidelines for Auditing Management Systems
- Describe the application of these guidelines to auditing ISO/IEC 17025
Skills to:
- Initiate the audit
- Prepare audit activities; complete the audit
- Prepare and distribute the audit report
- Conduct audit follow-up
Anyone involved in the implementation, auditing, maintaining or supervising of an ISO/IEC 17025 quality management system.

Any organization currently aligning to an ISO/IEC 17025 QMS within the laboratory system can attend this course. Having auditing experience is not essential.
You should already have a good knowledge of the requirements of ISO 17025 and the key principles of a QMS. If not, we strongly recommend you attend our ISO 17025 Requirements Training Course (or equivalent); as the requirements are not taught in this course.
