Lean and Six Sigma are complementary approaches, which when used together can often resolve issues where just using one of the approaches has been unsuccessful.

Lean Six Sigma Black Belts are leaders who combine Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to create the best approach to resolve operational issues and improve process performance. A critical resource for any organization, you'll be able to ensure the successful implementation of Lean Six Sigma using methodologies such as DMAIC.

This nine-day upgrade training is designed to advance you as a qualified Green Belt to Black Belt level. It'll provide you with an in-depth understanding of both Lean and Six Sigma concepts, methods and tools, as well as the skills to successfully apply them within your organization to improve your critical business processes and drive success.

This course will help you:
- Develops skills to do more advanced analysis using the Lean Sigma approach

- Share and apply Lean Sigma principles, methodologies and tools across your organization to drive process improvement
Anyone who is a Lean Sigma Green Belt and wants to expand their expertise to become Lean Sigma Black Belt.
You'll be awarded an internationally recognized BSI Training Academy certificate upon completion of this Upgrading to Lean Sigma Black Belt training with a minimum attendance of 90% per phase.

Lean Sigma Black Belt certification requirements

Option 1 - IASSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Exam*
The IASSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ICBB) exam is a 4 hour 150 question proctored exam based on the IASSC Universally Accepted Lean Six Sigma Body of Knowledge for Black Belts. The Exam contains approximately 30 multiple-choice and true/false questions from each major section of the ILSSBOK for Black Belts.

In order to achieve this accredited designation of IASSC Certified Black Belt (ICBB) from the International Association for Six Sigma Certification, you must complete the IASSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Exam and achieve a minimum score of 580 points out of a total potential of 750 points.

*The Certification Exam to be scheduled separately within 2 weeks after the 18 days of LSBB training. To maintain the professional designation of IASSC Certified Black Belt (ICBB), candidates must sit the IASSC recertification exam every 3 years

Option 2 – BSI certification
- Complete Upgrading to Lean Sigma Black Belt (LSSB) training with a minimum attendance of 90% per phase.
- Pass BSI’s Upgrading to LSBB certification exam with the minimum score of 70% (this exam will be scheduled separately within 2 weeks of completing this course)
- Complete 1 Lean Sigma Black Belt project
- Complete final report on the project and reviewed by BSI
- Project savings/benefits achieved to be validated and endorsed by finance/senior management of the your organization
You'll have up to 8 months from completion of the training to finish the Lean Sigma project

BSI is an IASSC Accredited Training Organization™ for Certified Lean Sigma Green Belt and Certified Lean Sigma Black Belt courses. The only method to earn an IASSC certification is to successfully sit for and pass an official IASSC certification™ exam. Upon request, we do administer or provide access to IASSC Certification exams for no additional cost.
