There is a widespread consensus on the urgent necessity to intensify initiatives aimed at decreasing anthropogenic greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and enhancing GHG removals to stabilize and limit global warming to 2°C. Current climate science suggests that organizations must attain a 50% reduction in GHG emissions by the year 2030, ultimately reaching a 100% reduction, or net zero, by 2050.

A strategic approach to achieving net zero involves shifting the focus of organizations from their internal operations (Scopes 1 and 2) to optimizing their entire supply and/or value chains (Scope 3).

This training builds upon BSI’s GHG Practitioner training by supporting you to:

Define and establish Scope 3 emissions are significant
Identify, quantify, and report Scope 3 emissions
Appreciate and understand the contribution of Scope 3 emissions in your organizations supply and/or value chain

This training course does not cover GHG standards requirements and reporting frameworks for reporting an organization’s or a product’s carbon footprint.

Scope 3 GHG emissions are relevant to any organization, regardless of its size, sector, complexity, and geographical location. This course is especially suitable for those who need to:
- Develop, monitor, and manage GHG emissions and removals
- Gather, collect, evaluate, and analyze GHG data and information
- Supplying GHG data and information
- Influence supply chain/value chain GHG emissions and removals
Delegates must have prior knowledge in preparing and reporting Scopes 1 and 2 GHG emissions and removals at an organizational level or have completed the GHG Practitioner training before attending this course.
On completion, you will be awarded an internationally recognized BSI Training Academy certificate.
