The growing urgency of the climate crisis, coupled with the complex regulatory frameworks of international agreements like the Paris Agreement, has catalyzed a rapidly expanding global carbon market. This landscape, which includes both compliance schemes and voluntary corporate commitments to net-zero, has created an acute demand for specialized expertise.
The Carbon Crediting Programs Training Course has been designed, with joint efforts of BSI and Asia Carbon Institute (ACI), to meet this need. The course elaborates on the core principles and drivers of global carbon markets, explain the complete lifecycle of a carbon credit, and analyze major project types, methodologies and emerging carbon removal technologies. Participants will understand the standards, processes and challenges of validation, verification and monitoring.
The course has 9 modules, which shed lights on the key components of global carbon markets. For newcomers, the course opens the door to a rewarding career path. For existing practitioners, it strengthens their expertise with well-rounded knowledge, latest development of international mechanisms and the innovative technologies for voluntary carbon market (VCM).
This course will provide insights, frameworks and practical tools needed to understand carbon markets and develop carbon crediting programs. You will explore the landscape of global climate change, gain clarity on essential concepts, and learn the process of developing carbon projects and create carbon credits.
By completing the course, you will:

• Appreciate the integration of carbon credits within broader green finance frameworks (taxonomies, SLBs, ESG reporting).
• Assess the impact and potential of technology (Blockchain, AI, Satellite) on market transparency, efficiency, and integrity.
• Identify key trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the future of the VCM.
