Course Aim: Provide knowledge relating to the adoption of Annex SL Appendix 2, and changed energy requirements, when transitioning to ISO 50001:2018 from ISO 50001:2011. Apply knowledge practically in order to build your ISO 50001:2018 auditing skill.

Course Description: Are you an ISO 50001:2011 Internal or Lead Auditor who wants to develop the expertise to audit an ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System (EnMS)? This course is ideal for existing auditors as it combines the 1-day ‘ISO 50001:2018 Transition’ course with an additional day of auditing activities. You’ll learn about the changes from ISO 50001:2011 to ISO 50001:2018, and apply this practically in order to build your ISO 50001 auditing skill.

This course will help you:

Understand the key changes from ISO 50001:2011 to ISO 50001:2018
Prepare, conduct and develop the skills for an ISO 50001:2018 audit

You will learn to:
- Explain the purpose and use of Annex SL Appendix 2 and describe a generic management system
- Communicate the new requirements relating to: Context, Leadership, Planning, Support and Operation, in Annex SL Appendix 2
- Identify the main terms and definitions in ISO 50001:2018 which differ from ISO 50001:2011
- Communicate energy specific requirements in ISO 50001:2018 that differ from ISO 50001:2011
- Plan an audit to ISO 50001:2018
1. Establish that the scope and criteria for an audit are appropriate
2. Prepare an on-site audit plan that is appropriate to the organization's context and processes
- Conduct ISO 50001:2018 audits:
1. Demonstrate the ability to collect and verify appropriate audit evidence, including appropriate sampling
- Develop your ISO 50001:2018 auditing skill:
1. Demonstrate the ability to manage meetings and audit interviews effectively with top management
2. Demonstrate the ability to follow audit trails with top management
ISO 50001:2011 Internal and Lead Auditors who need to transition to ISO 50001:2018.
