New BIM Whitepaper Launched

10th October 2017

BSI launches new whitepaper exploring the digital transformation in the built environment, featuring the RTA in Dubai.

British Standards Institution (BSI) has recently published a white paper to help those in the built environment industry understand some key points of BIM. Using the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) as a case study, BSI explains not only the benefits of BIM, but also the process of certification.

BIM is seen as the way forward in the construction sector with many governments making BIM Level 2 compulsory for public procurement projects. This new whitepaper helps you to understand the requirements of BIM Level 2 that are specified in the PAS 1192-2 standard and gives best practices to demonstrate BIM capability through certification.

RTA became the world’s first government entity to achieve the BSI Kitemark for BIM. This whitepaper speaks to Mattar Al Tayer, the Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA and gets his thoughts on why he wanted BIM certification for the RTA and the benefits that he is seeing from it.
