I’m pleased to announce that The British Standards Institution (BSI) has acquired the Management Systems Certification business of PwC Certification in order to provide an enhanced range of services to business across South Africa.

Theuns KotzeOur new company will operate under the name of BSI South Africa (Pty) Ltd. PwC Certification has over 120 globally recognized blue chip clients, such as Anglo American / De Beers, Vodacom, Afrox and AngloGold Ashanti, mainly in the areas of quality, environmental and health & safety management. This exciting move supports our strategic initiatives of growing scale in our systems certification business and expanding into fast-developing markets.
Initially, we will be looking to introduce new system certification schemes and training programmes into the South African market, as well as promoting the full portfolio of BSI’s products and services.

This is BSI’s first office in Africa and enables us to expand our business more quickly across the African continent, where we work already with more than 200 companies. Theuns Kotze, Managing Director Middle East & Africa (MEA), and his team will support our new colleagues and clients from Dubai as we work to grow the business across Africa.

We see tremendous long-term opportunities for BSI in Africa and we will continue to share with you news of future developments in our business there.
