Just published: PD ISO/PAS 45005:2020, Occupational health and safety management — General guidelines for safe working during the COVID-19 pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has turned the world of work upside down, with organizations facing unprecedented challenges. PD ISO/PAS 45005:2020 has been developed in record time, in response to the urgency of the situation and the immediate need for information.
BSI published its first Safe Working Guidelines FLEX standard in May, and Versions 2 and 3 followed in July and August. All three versions of the BSI Flex standard are available for reference and download here.
Following international adoption and enquiries, BSI proposed Version 3 as the seed document for an international (ISO) standard. The international community responded to the immediate need and agreed to a shortened process without compromising consensus.
The committee, under BSI leadership, developed and published the ISO/PAS standard in just three months. Depending on the future course of the pandemic, and the emergence of new information, the document will continue to be updated. The PAS brings together international good practice during the COVID-19 pandemic, and is intended to complement national guidelines and regulations.
