Certification is a two-stage process. During the first stage a BSI assessor will check to see if you have identified the requirements of the scheme and whether you have systems and procedures in place to support this. If any non-conformities are identified at this stage, then you have the opportunity to close these out before moving to the second stage.
At the second stage we will examine the processes, systems, people and projects all relating to innovation. This could involve conducting interviews with those involved as well as documentation reviews to provide evidence of compliance with the scheme. We will also measure the outputs.
Once the Kitemark requirements has been met then your certificate is issued. This is then followed by ongoing annual assessments to ensure standards are maintained and to keep your certification valid and ensure you derive value from your innovation programme.
