    This 2-day course revisits some of the key concepts, principles and practices, of organizational GHG emissions and removals quantification and reporting, outlined in ISO 14064-1; and summarizes related requirements for carbon footprinting of products, provided by ISO 14067. This refresh then provides the foundation required to know and understand the key principles and requirements for demonstrating carbon neutrality, following a hierarchy on a pathway to Net Zero, outlined by ISO 14068-1. The course aims to explain how the pathway is used in developing a carbon neutrality management plan (logistics-specific ), the methodologies used for carbon footprint quantification, use of offset, and provides clear guidance for those responsible for the achievement of carbon neutrality in logistics operations.

    • Quantification Methodologies: Overview of methodologies for carbon footprint quantification and the use of offsets.
    • Practical Guidance: Clear guidance for individuals responsible for achieving carbon neutrality in logistics operations.
    • Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
      • Understand the fundamentals of GHG accounting and reporting specific to logistics operations.
      • Learn how to quantify and manage the carbon footprint of logistics services and products.
      • Develop a carbon management plan tailored to logistics operations.
      • Gain insights into the verification and validation processes for GHG statements in the logistics context.

    • To support the logistics industry in nurturing more professional talents, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSAR) has launched the “Professional Training on Smart and Green Logistics Scheme” (PTSGLS). This initiative provides a variety of course options to encourage in-service practitioners to acquire the latest knowledge and to assist the industry in upgrading and transforming towards greener and smarter practices.

      Suitable for

      • Current Logistics Professionals: Individuals already working in the logistics industry in Hong Kong ; OR
      • New Entrants: Individuals who join the logistics industry in Hong Kong within four months after completing the courses.

      Funding Details

      • Successful applicants can receive a reimbursement of 80% of their course fees, with a maximum funding limit of HKD 30,000.
      • Each individual may apply for funding for more than one preapproved course, with a cumulative cap of HKD 30,000.
