Practical Environmental Aspect Determination Training Course

Determination of environmental aspects is one of the main elements of strategic planning as well as the foundation for an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS). Understanding of the organization’s environmental aspects is essential to determine what actions are required and how stringent the implemented controls need to be to mitigate the impact to the environment. The measurable results from management of the aspects will contribute to the organization’s environmental performance.

The third edition of the standard, ISO 14001:2015 requires an organization to consider a life cycle perspective of its products and services in its environmental aspects determination. Once the significant environmental aspects have been determined, they can result in risks and opportunities. The actions shall plan to address significant environmental aspects and compliance obligations.

This one-day training course will provide knowledge of the environmental aspects relating to the activities, products and services of an organization. It will equip you with the skills to document information by analysing which aspects are significant; the relationship of the aspects to compliance obligations; and the associated risks and opportunities.
