The AI Governance module is part of BSI’s AI Foundation Framework. It provides a flexible training, self-assessment, and verification based on AI governance standards.

The AI Governance Mark of Trust is the outcome of independent verification that demonstrates that AI developers and users meet global standards for best-practice governance and oversight. It signals to customers, partners, and regulators that your AI adoption is responsible and trustworthy.
Once your AI governance processes and maturity level are verified, you’ll gain the use of the unique BSI Mark of Trust. This proves your active commitment to responsible AI adoption to your stakeholders.

The BSI Mark of Trust provides:

Internal and external credibility

Evidence of responsible AI governance

Assurance for customers, partners and regulators
The AI Governance module is based on several standards to ensure it’s thorough yet simple to start. It includes:

AI Governance (ISO/IEC 38507)

AI Risk Management (ISO/IEC 23894)

Risk Management Framework (NIST RMF)

The modules can be completed independently or as part of a pathway, progressively building your capabilities, confidence, and AI maturity.
You don’t need any prior knowledge of standards or management systems to get started.

The modules of the AI Foundation Framework are designed to help you:

Build capability before pursuing formal certification

Demonstrate responsible AI adoption while your governance evolves
It doesn’t mean your AI Management is certified. To achieve accredited certification, you’ll need a fully operational AI management system that meets all the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 42001.

A key benefit of completing the AI Management module is that it helps you work towards full certification. And achieving a high level of maturity in this module provides ~90% compliance with ISO/IEC 42001.
