The company manufactures electrical and mechanical fixings, fire protection, and sanitary systems. With 1,000 employees and 60 in the UK, it delivers solutions that cut installation time, improve efficiency, and prioritize workforce safety.
Having initially improved health and safety with BS OHSAS 18001, the organization aimed to remain at the forefront of its sector. The goal was to create an inclusive culture where health and safety were understood, appreciated, and embedded across the company. At the same time, it needed to maintain high-quality systems for its customers and meet regulatory requirements.
ISO 45001 enabled Walraven to create a modern health and safety management system focused on eliminating risks and fostering a proactive safety culture. Leadership and staff engagement were key, with communication through meetings and newsletters. Reporting improvements, including capturing near-miss incidents, enhanced transparency, and empowered employees, supporting a safer workplace. Certification to ISO 9001:2015 complemented this by ensuring consistent quality and continual improvement.
