Webinar series focusing on cybersecurity in the food industry

Even before COVID-19, the food sector was integrating technology in production, increasing use of automation, robotics, AI and other technologies to increase productivity and improve efficiency. The criticality of these operationally focussed technologies accelerated as the market changed in response to the pandemic.

This has provided cybercriminals and hackers with increasing opportunity to impact the sector; creating significant fiscal risk and operational issues across the functionality of the entire C-Suite, ranging from not just the quality and safety of food, but operations within food and beverage businesses that range from manufacturing and production to transportation and marketing.

In this webinar series we will highlight the risks in terms of cybersecurity associated with the food industry. From CEO, CFO, COO, CPO and CMO concerns, to industry 4.0 and IoT, and data privacy.

Watch all webinars of this series:

  • Webinar 1 | On-demand: Cybersecurity is a C-suite opportunity
  • Webinar 2 | On-demand: Digital transformation – enabling operational technology resilience
  • Webinar 3 | On-demand: Data protection considerations in the direct-to-consumer business model
  • Webinar 4 | On-demand: Remember When Food was food and Security was a locked door?
Let's discuss the path of food and how advances in technology have simplified, yet complicated, all aspects of food growth, harvesting, production, and distribution.

Webinar 4: Remember When Food was food and Security was a locked door?

Date recorded: 2 December 2021

The ever-changing landscape of the food supply chain has become more distant with global suppliers, yet everyone is much "closer" in a connected world. It is the existence of these very connections that now pose the greatest risk to the global food supply chain. Are your IT systems secure enough to guarantee on-time delivery of critical supplies? Are your business partners' IT systems secure? How do you know for certain? Let's discuss the path of food and how advances in technology have simplified, yet complicated, all aspects of food growth, harvesting, production, and distribution.

Webinar 3 | Data Protection considerations in the Direct-to-Consumer business model

Webinar 3: Data protection considerations in the direct-to-consumer business model

Date recorded: 21 October 2021

With consumers increasingly buying their food online, selling directly to end consumers (D2C) can increase market share and decrease the costs of transacting through retailers. However, it also increases the producers exposure to personal and financial transaction data which must be protected. Our third webinar will provide an overview of the impacts of adopting a D2C model and what pitfalls and risks you need to be aware of and mitigate.

Digital transformation – enabling operational technology resilience

Webinar 2: Digital transformation – enabling operational technology resilience

Date recorded: 9 September 2021

Automation and digitalization are transforming all manufacturing industries and food and drink organizations are no exception. However, ‘smart factories’ increase the potential impact of a data breach impacting operational integrity. In the second webinar of this series and learn why and how adopting cyber best practice is as ‘smart’ as adopting the technologies themselves.
