What is GLOBALG.A.P.?

The GLOBALG.A.P. portfolio of standards are applicable to agriculture, aquaculture, floriculture, compound feed manufacturing, and the supply chain.

BSI Group is accredited and licensed to offer the following GLOBALG.A.P. Products. Our approval status can be verified here

  1. GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) Plants:

Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) is a global standard for responsible farming practices at primary production level. It covers the following sub-scopes:

  • Fruit & Vegetables
  • Flowers & Ornamentals
  • Combined Crops
  • Plant propagation material

It is built on a holistic approach that covers the following key topics and offers a robust, effective and cost-effective solution to producers whilst meeting the evolving demands of buyers and global supply chain partners:

  • Traceability
  • Food safety
  • Workers’ health, safety, and welfare
  • Biodiversity and habitats
  • Energy efficiency
  • Waste management
  • Fertilizers and biostimulants
  • Water management
  • Integrated pest management
  • Plant protection products
  1. GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody:

GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody (CoC) allows supply chain stakeholders to demonstrate management systems that protect the segregation, identification, and traceability of products originating from GLOBALG. A.P. certified production processes. This way, products produced in line with safe, socially and environmentally responsible farming practices can be connected with a GLOBALG.A.P. claim at the end of the chain – reducing integrity risks, providing reassurance to customers, and adding value to a brand in the market.

International supply chains contain multiple stages. This means that not all supply chain companies source directly from producers with GLOBALG.A.P. certification. CoC is designed to identify products originating from GLOBALG. A.P. certified production processes and safeguard this status at every stage of the supply chain.

The following key topics are covered by CoC:

  • Management structure
  • Retail store/Restaurant management structure
  • Input and output verification
  • Traceability
  • Identification, labeling and display
  • Products with the GGN label visual elements
  • Aquaculture products
  • Food safety and residue exceedances.
  1. GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice (GRASP)

The GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice (GRASP) is an add-on for the evaluation of workers' well-being at farm level. It covers four major social responsibility topics:

  • Workers’ voice
  • Human and labor rights information
  • Human and labor rights indicators
  • Child and young workers’ protection.
