Our voluntary certification schemes allow manufacturers to differentiate themselves against competition with the application of the Kitemark, the mark of trust onto their product which demonstrates manufacturer’s commitment to product safety and quality, audited by the third party organization on a regular basis.

Our Kitemark certification for Emergency ligting is also widely recognized and accepted in the United Arab Emirates.

BSI is a founding signatory to the ENEC (European Certification Scheme for lighting) agreement and can issue the ENEC mark on behalf of CENELEC in the UK. The mark is applicable for electro technology products such as lighting fittings and their components, capacitors, mains connector and cord sets. The procedure for obtaining the ENEC mark is similar to that for obtaining the Kitemark™ and offers many of the same benefits.

As a certification body, BSI tests the electrical safety and performance, where applicable, in accordance with the relevant European Norms, and will only grant the ENEC certification mark when it has been established that there is compliance with the relevant ENs.

BSI is a signatory to the IECEE CB scheme and as such can issue and accept CB certificates. The IECEE CB Scheme is internationally recognized and is a one-stop shop where one test (based on an IEC International Standards), to obtain one or more national certification marks as appropriate or simply third-party documentation of product conformity.

As well as testing your products for Kitemark™ or third-party product conformity to enable required certification marks, we can provide testing services before and after you receive you certification, or even when no standard already exists.

This will help you to meet the requirements of bids and tenders, potentially where it was more difficult for you to do so, and differentiate your products in the market place. We'll give you the independent overview that you need, and you'll be able to use your verification certificate to support procurement specifications.

If no standard exists in the market place, or if you are looking to give additional reassurance of the performance of your product, verification gives you peace of mind. It gives you independent confirmation that your products do meet the high levels of performance.
