Nicola Packer, Standards Development Manager, BSI

Haider serves as Healthinnova’s COO and is responsible for internal operations, business development, partnerships and delivery.

Prior to joining Healthinnova Haider served as Vice President and General Manager for Caradigm’s European business and was responsible for leading Caradigm’s growth and operations in Europe. Caradigm was a joint venture company formed by Microsoft and GE Healthcare and one of the first to develop population health systems focussed on prevention as well as treatment.

He also serves as a member of the board of the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), his local university hospital NHS foundation trust (Milton Keynes), the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Health Board (BOB ICB), and is a member of the British Standards Institution (BSI) Healthcare Organisation Management Committee.

Haider holds a BSc in Medical Informatics as well as a Masters in Informatics from the University of Manchester. He is a trained ISO auditor, a Six Sigma BlackBelt and a certified scuba diver.

Danny is the AI Clinical Lead at the Guy’s Cancer Centre which is partnering with the King’s Technology Evaluation Centre (KiTEC), King’s College London, on the clinical evaluation of AI technology in cancer care. Danny currently leads on several AL clinical evaluations in cancer care, including evaluation of AI for clinical decision support, clinical trials matching and histopathology.

Danny has formerly held posts as Director of Public Health for the London Borough of Lewisham and the City of Newcastle, and as Senior Lecturer in Epidemiology and Health Services Research at Newcastle University and Dundee University. Danny developed the first evidence based national guidelines for epilepsy and evaluated its implementation in a large cluster randomised trial across Scotland. He has developed Patient Reported Outcome Measures recommended by the US FDA, used with patients across the NHS in England and throughout the world.

Dr. Abdul Sayeed is a highly experienced and accomplished technology leader with over 20 years of experience in the medical devices’ development field. With a PhD in Computer Visions and Machine Learning from the University of Surrey, Dr. Sayeed has a proven track record of creating novel solutions and leading teams to success.

Currently Dr. Sayeed is the Head of Standards at Elekta and is responsible for the organization’s vision and strategy for engagement in international standards. He has established new processes and tools to track and collaborate on developing standards and is leading/involved in several international technical committees focused on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Prior to this, he held the position of Assistant Vice President of Engineering at Elekta, where he supported the execution of an engineering transformation of the business.

In addition to his work at Elekta, Dr. Sayeed holds several appointments as a member of BSI (UK) committees, IEC technical committees, and is a member of the IEC Software Network and Artificial Intelligence Advisory Group.

Allison is an expert in AI and Data Ethics with interests in health technology, algorithmic bias, HCI, diversity and inclusion. She currently works for the AI Multi-agency Advisory Service with NICE addressing cross-regulatory policy between NICE, MHRA, CQC and HRA. She is an experienced educator and a Senior Research Fellow (Hon) at Keele University. She is a co-founder of Women Leading in AI. Allison sits on a number of standards committees including ISO/IEC SC 42, UK National and CEN/CENELEC JTC/21 as a For Humanity Fellow. Allison is a renowned speaker on AI ethics, with several media appearances including as a TEDx speaker. Allison was named in Computer Weekly’s 2022 longlist for the Top Most Influential Women in UK Tech 2022 and the 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics 2022 list by Women in AI Ethics.

Lorna is a Clinical Scientist and Head of Software and Informatics in the Medical Devices Unit, a specialist unit within the Department of Clinical Physics anf Bioengeering, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The Medical Devices Unit specialise in the design, development, and regulation of medical devices across a range of clinical services. The Software and Informatics Team are focused on supporting clinicians to improve patient safety and the quality of clinical services through the better software and more effective use of healthcare data.

Lorna has 17 years of experience working in healthcare, that includes clinical services delivery, academia, industry, and a secondment to the UK Cabinet Office, focusing on policies around open and early access to dementia research data. She is a chartered, HCPC-registered clinical scientist with a PhD in Neuroimaging, Machine Learning, and Dementia from University College London, and an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Glasgow.

Joseph currently leads the ethical AI Assurance firm CarefulAI. Prior to this he was CTO in Healthy London Partnership and Head of AI Innovation in NHS Digital.

Joseph has 30 years experience of funding, designing, developing and deploying technology in a variety of markets and user cases e.g. healthcare, carbon reduction, finance, food, energy, entertainment, security, communications etc.

Notable achievements are:

Leading 93 investments in Technology firms for the Banking and Government Sectors;

Working with 33 founders and investors to bring new products into market prime’s supply chains e.g. Meta, Google, Apple;

Co-developing data preparation approaches for use on ‘Edge Device AI’ (e.g. Smartphone AI)
