A Standards professional with extensive experience in sharing Standards knowledge, managing Standards Committees and recently, working with industry and government to identify standards needs and deliver complex standards projects.

Led the standards workstream in the Each Home Counts Independent Review of energy efficiency and renewable energy where she helped to define and deliver the programme of Standards development, including the PAS 2035 framework, under the Retrofit Standards Task group.

Project lead on the MHCLG/BSI Built Environment Competence Standards work programme leading to the publication of BSI Flex 8670 and three new PAS documents in development for the newly regulated roles under the Building Safety Bill.

Also involved with sustainability in the infrastructure industry including PAS 2080 with the GCB Infrastructure Working Group.

Andrew is the Managing Director of AMCRETE UK, which provides concrete technology support and advice to the construction industry and chair of the Low Carbon Concrete Group.

Andrew is a Chartered Construction Manager and a member of the Institute of Concrete Technology. Andrew regularly lectures to the Chartered Institute of Building, reviews papers for the ICE and works with Concrete producers, clients and Contractors advising on concrete related investigations and solutions as well as introducing new and emerging cement technologies to contribute to driving down the industries carbon emissions.

Maria is Mott MacDonald’s Global Technical Lead for Net Zero. A chartered engineer with over 18 years of experience in investment planning, carbon and asset management, Maria has led a number of strategic decarbonisation projects in infrastructure, including the Water UK Net Zero Carbon Roadmap. Maria has been supporting water utilities and other infrastructure owners in the UK, Australasia, North America and the Middle East, plan and implement decarbonisation solutions.

Maria is a member of the Green Construction Board in the UK and has co-authored the Infrastructure Carbon Review and PAS 2080: Carbon Management in Infrastructure. She is in the Technical Author team for the PAS 2080 update, which is to be launched in 2022. Maria is a visiting lecturer on Low Carbon and Net Zero Infrastructure at Cranfield University, UK. She is a technical advisor on Net Zero in a number of industry forums including the Institution of Civil Engineers Carbon Project.

Heleni is an Associate Director at Arup, driving Climate Action and Sustainable Development in the Infrastructure Group, London. An enthusiastic promoter of whole life decarbonisation of Infrastructure, Heleni advances and coordinates sustainable development and whole life carbon strategies for the built environment. She combines her deep engineering knowledge with the belief that the construction industry is key for the net zero carbon transition and contributing towards environmental regeneration, responding to the climate and biodiversity crises.

Heleni has close links with academia and has acted as the Industrial Supervisor for several research projects. She supports and coordinates sustainable development skills and expertise, including integration of Planetary Health principles in planning and design. She firmly believes that climate, biodiversity and environmental degradation are interlinked and solving them requires deep understanding of complex natural systems and how the built environment interacts with them.

A member of the Green Construction Board and the Institution of Civil Engineers Net Zero Taskforce, she is actively involved in accelerating decarbonisation in Infrastructure and the built environment. She is co-authoring the revision of PAS2080:2016 Carbon Management in Infrastructure, due to be published by BSI in 2022. She is also a member of the Science Based Target Network for Nature (SBTn), a global group that focuses on restoring balance across all interrelated natural systems of climate, freshwater, biodiversity, land and sea use.

Peter is an Energy and Sustainability Consultant working on retrofit projects for Savills’.  He also chairs BSI's Retrofit Standards Task Group, developing a framework of technical standards to support the implementation of the Each Home Counts review.

From 1982 to 2017 Peter was a Director of Rickaby Thompson Associates, an energy and sustainability consultancy working for the building and housing industries.  The company provided design advice, energy surveys and energy ratings, housing stock energy consultancy, building performance monitoring and evaluation, environmental assessment, technical research and training for building and housing professionals.

Peter was a member of the evaluation panel for the Technology Strategy Board’s Retrofit for the Future programme.  Subsequently, from 2013 to 2015, he led the development of the widely acclaimed Retrofit Coordinator training for the Centre of Refurbishment Excellence (CoRE).

From 2014 to 2018 Peter contributed to the Each Home Counts review and was a member of the Implementation Board.  He was the Technical Author of PAS 2035:2019 Retrofitting Dwellings for Improved Energy Efficiency: Specification and Guidance and of PAS 2038:2021 Retrofitting Non-Domestic Buildings for Energy Efficiency: Specification.

From 2018 to 2022 Peter was a manager of the UK Centre for Moisture in Buildings, and Coordinator of the Building Envelope Research Network, both at University College London.  He is now an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at UCL.
