Fire and Security Techniques Awarded With BSI Kitemark

Being the first company to obtain the BSI kitemark in South Africa under ISO 14520 will put Fire and Security Techniques at the front of the fire protection industry giving them the opportunity to outperform the competition with regards to quality assurance and quality management.

The BSI Kitemark is a registered certification mark owned and operated by BSI. It is one of the most recognized symbols of quality and safety and offers true value to consumers, businesses and procurement practices. Combined with the independent backing of BSI and with UKAS accreditation – benefits for manufacturers and businesses include risk reduction, increased customer satisfaction, access to new customers around the world and associated brand benefits of having a BSI Kitemark status.

Fire and Security Techniques is the largest supplier of fire suppression solutions, having been in the fire protection industry for more than 14 years and is a respected supplier of internationally and locally approved hardware that is used to provide 24/7 fire protection for high value resources. FST also contribute to the fact that their product (HFC 227ea) is 85% locally manufactured.

“We have always strived for continual improvement in terms of quality and obtaining the BSI kitemark is one step in the right direction for us,” says CEO Neil Hughes.

Says Neil Hughes: “We will continue to demonstrate to existing and potential owners of automatic fire suppression systems that they can have confidence in their solution providers to not only have the necessary in-house technical skills but also our full support to ensure longevity and reliability of their automatic fire suppression system”.
