Understanding ISO 15489 Information & Documentation - Records Management

The ISO 15489 Information and Documentation Records Management standard was developed in response to a need by the international community for the standardization of international best practices in records management.

With the current climate for risk management as magnified from the 9/11 incident in New York, records are recognised as an invaluable resource and important business asset that merits focus in its own right.

Organisations that are ISO 9001 and 14001 compliant would find this standard especially useful as it provides guidance on the design and implementation of records system.

This course provides an overview of the standard and focuses on how records of all mediums may be protected and retrieved more efficiently and effectively.
