Introducing the AC 00-56B program

AC 00-56B - voluntary industry distributor accreditation program is a voluntary program for civil aircraft parts distributors which is owned and strongly endorsed by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to establish eligibility of parts and products. Whilst the scheme is owned by the FAA, it is recognized by the industry in other areas of the globe, and sometimes flowed down as a customer requirement.

How BSI can help

BSI offers a scheme to enable clients to be assessed against AC 00-56B and to receive a declaration document to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the program. BSI documents are recognised by the FAA, and are valid to list your organization on the official Aviation Suppliers Association register.

Benefits of the program

  • Demonstrates compliance to customers who require AC 00-56B and enables your organization to be listed on the official Aviation Suppliers Association database
  • Provides recognition that your organization is committed to meeting international industry requirements
  • Helps establish eligibility of parts and products, and trust in the supply chain
  • Clients already certified to AS/EN 9100 series or ISO 9001 are already well on their way to meeting the requirements of AC 00-56B
  • AC 00-56B audits may be aligned with AS/EN 9100 series and ISO 9001 audit cycles
