Introduction of the IATF KPI Hub

In March 2020 the IATF introduced an operational change to the IATF 16949 certification scheme. The change relates to the introduction of a new process to monitor IATF OEM Tier 1 supplier performance which is to be managed by IATF 16949 certification bodies.

Between July 2019 and March 2020, the American Oversight office, IAOB (supported by other Oversight offices, including SMMT Oversight), ran a pilot project focused on supporting FORD and GM in aligning IATF 16949 certification with supplier performance. Based on the success of the pilot, the process has now officially been adopted by the IATF and has been formally launched and extended to include additional IATF OEMs; Groupe PSA effective immediately, followed by FCA and JLR by the end of Q2 2020.

Full details of the process, as communicated by SMMT IATF Oversight to certification bodies, are available for you to access.
