International Recognition for Danamon’s Business Continuity Management

PT Bank Danamon Indonesia, Tbk. (“Danamon”) on 2 July 2013 has achieved ISO 22301: 2012 – BCMS certification, an international recognition for institutions that have shown excellence in continuous improvements and implementation of business continuity management system. With this achievement, Danamon has become the first company in Indonesia and the first bank in South East Asia to receive this certification from the British Standard Institution (BSI) Group Indonesia, a prominent certification body with more than 100 years of experience and, as such, was proven to have met international standards in business continuity. This underscores the strength and resilience of all aspects of Danamon, especially in responding to any foreseeable threat regardless of the causes.

“This certification is a result of our hard work in undertaking continuous improvements to our banking process, particularly in ensuring business continuity. We are confident that, with this internationally recognized certification, customers’ trust towards Danamon will further increase,” said Muliadi Rahardja, Danamon Operations Director.

The ISO 22301: 2012 – BCMS international certification is achieved by Danamon through an audit process from BSI Group, one of the world’s most renowned certification bodies with a presence in 120 countries. The audit mechanism used an approach whereby the auditor checked for the fulfillment of quality standards as required by ISO 22301: 2012 – BCMS such as compliance to the prevailing regulation, products and services quality, management commitment, and other supporting functions that have a role in business continuity.

“This achievement is only the beginning of Danamon’s journey, and we will use this as a foundation for further improvements. We believe that with sustainable development of Danamon’s operations, Danamon’s customers will continuously receive benefits in the form of convenient transactions and higher quality products and services,” said Satinder Ahluwalia, Integrated Risk Director, Danamon.

ISO 22301: 2012 – BCMS is categorized as a premium ISO, as it is published in mid 2012 and only a few companies have been certified.

“We would like to congratulate Danamon as the first company in Indonesia and the first bank in South East Asia that have achieved the ISO 22301: 2012 – BCMS certification from BSI Group. Meeting this ISO standard is no easy feat, as it requires a strong commitment from management and support from every level of the company. This certification shows that Danamon is a strong institution with assured business continuity,” said Mr.Yuan Bambang Handayana, Managing Director BSI Group Indonesia.
