The Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU details the requirements that manufacturers have to meet to place pressure equipment on the market in the European Union.
The PED affects all pressure equipment manufacturers, importers, distributors and authorised representatives. Subcontractors/suppliers may also be affected.
The PED focusses on pressure safety, emphasising Essential Safety Requirements, conformity assessment, quality management aspects, transparency and traceability. The requirements may also affect (supplier) audits; introduce new partners to interact with, and increase communication needs and obligations (e.g. contracts, reporting, documentation, and publication of information).
This course conveys key concepts of the Pressure Equipment Directive. All pressure equipment in Hazard Categories I thru IV will need to undergo a Conformity Assessment Procedure based on PED requirements in order to be placed on the European Union market. You will gain understanding of the requirements stipulated within the PED.
