What’s this modern methods of construction webinar about?

We’re launching a project to develop a new PAS (PAS 8700) on offsite construction of residential buildings.

To ensure participation and achieve the broadest level of consensus, this webinar will provide an outline of the proposed PAS document and what it intends to achieve. It will include outputs from scoping workshops, a potential contents list, and the project plan that includes ways to get involved.

Clare is Sector Lead – Built Environment at BSI. She is a Standards professional with extensive experience in sharing Standards knowledge, managing Standards Committees and recently, working with industry and government to identify standards needs and deliver complex standards projects.

She led the standards workstream in the Each Home Counts Independent Review of energy efficiency and renewable energy where she helped to define and deliver the programme of Standards development, including the PAS 2035 framework, under the Retrofit Standards Task group. A new BSI Technical Committee for Retrofit is being established in 2020. She sits on the Green Construction Board infrastructure working group to provide input on standardization for carbon management and low carbon concrete. She is Project Lead on the Built Environment Competence Standards programme.

Clare Vokes is a Director at Harlow Consulting and a certified research professional with almost 20 years’ experience. Her main area of expertise is in designing, developing and reviewing industry/professional standards, frameworks and qualifications, having worked as a technical writer across the UK and in Saudi Arabia. Her research specialisms cover construction and the built environment, including MMC; her recent studies have including comparing international approaches to property protection in fire regulations; strategic industry research analysing skills demand for delivering MMC and the potential regional capacity to meet that demand and; supporting a major project identifying risks in MMC.
